I am sure that all of you love eating the kheer made with creamy milk ,rice and garnished with dry fruits which makes it more tempting,but have you ever heard about "Benaami Kheer"?

The name of The Benaami Kheer itself shows the royalty of the dish which was First served in the MUGHAL'S KITCHEN.The kheer was evidently named as Benaami because the main ingredient of the dish was unknown to everyone except the Khansama(cook).
But what if I tell you that the main ingredient of this kheer was GARLIC/LEHSUN.Yes!You read it right,the Benaami kheer was made with garlic.
To supress the pungent smell,the Khansama used to soak the garlic in vinegar or boiling the garlic 2-3 times and changing the water in each cycle,boiling it in the water until the sweetened milk does not turrn creamier.
Its fragnance enhanced by garnishing it with dry fruits,saffron and rose water.But due to its time consuming preparation,this dish lost its authenticity and THE BENAAMI KHEER lost its identity in the present.Mrs.HOMEMADEThank you for reading,Be the part of my journey to know more about such food dishes.
