Konkani cuisine is mainly influenced by the traditions of Maharashtra ,Karnataka and Goa.
Seafood like prawns, crabs and fish and coconut are some of the integral ingredients of this cuisine . Also ,Konkani foods are majorly non-vegetarian.

Most of the delicacies prepared here are the adaptation of Arab culinary with some variations according to the place where they live.
Today we will be talking about one such dish which has lost its identity over years.
Katri-- is a sweet preparation which was once a konkon variation with modern day sweet pasta .

The main ingredients used for its preparation are :Maida,sugar and obviously coconut as Konkani cuisines are incomplete without the essence of coconut.
It's preparation includes sun-drying of roti made from maida which usually takes 3-4 hrs followed by cutting the chapati into thin small slices , then boiling the pieces and straining it completely.
Finally the main step is to add some oil, put fresh grated coconut , sugar and lastly the strained katri.
The main reason of it's disappearance is the involvement of drying katri which takes more time than usual for its preparation.And in today's world everyone is running to save time . Everybody is looking for getting hold of instant food recipes.
